This project has no association with Microsoft. The project was originally intended for the Microsoft Next Gen Computer competition in 2008. Hence I also looked at the project from a branding perspective and how a product like this might become Microsoft’s key arm along with Surface etc.
GD880 is an LG Mini mobile phone that will come with the new ‘Phantom Browser’ that supports HTML 5 compatible browser. LG Mini GD880 has a 3.2 inch touchscreen display, a 5MP camera with face detection and auto focus features, an integrated WiFi, A-GPS and FM radio and it will run LG’s S-Class OS.
LG Mini GD880 will be on the shelf later this month, and you will be able to open up to 10 tab in your web browser at once.
Talk of a free edition of Microsoft’s Windows OS isn’t anything new: the idea has been around since 2005 at the very least. However, Stephen Chapman of MSFTKitchen seems the think the free edition is closer to reality than ever before, especially with businesses pushing to move software into the cloud. After a little digging, he discovered that an actual ad-based version of Windows has actually been created.

A recently discovered clue is hinting that Apple may add printing support to iPhone OS 4.0 or another update of the operating system. Per AppleInsider , support notes for the iPad’s iWork apps all note that “printing directly from iPad is not currently available” and imply that it will be an option at a later date. Rumors so far haven’t confirmed whether or not it would appear in Thursday’s special event, though it presents the first clear opportunity.
What the PS3 homebrew community hoped was an April Fool’s joke by Sony turned out not to be, as the latest system update for the console (3.21) axed the ability to install another operating system, i.e. Linux, on it. The feature has been absent from the PS3 “Slim” since its release, but owners of the original form factor probably never expected to lose the functionality. Enter Geohot, the person who in January claimed to have “hacked the PS3.” He now claims to have created a custom firmware update that not only reintroduces the Other OS feature to original PS3 units, but potentially the Slim systems as well.
I normally would not write an article in response to something I read on another site, but this article entitled “ Apple iPad Will Leave HP Slate in the Dust” by PCWorld writer and Apple fanboy Ed Oswald, is so ridiculous and makes so many incorrect accusations that I could not help myself.
Let me begin by stating that I am so tired of reading articles and reviews (good or bad) about the tablet device from Apple (I refuse to say the name anymore) that it almost hurt to write this one in rebuttal. Back to the point. According to Bit’s and Byte’s, Ed Oswald “…was a Senior Writer with BetaNews.com from November 2004 to September 2008. While there, his focuses were Apple and the digital media and entertainment industries.” This is no problem in itself, for I am a self-proclaimed Windows proponent, but I make an attempt to give facts and a semi-unbiased opinion when dealing with things non-Windows related. His article over at PCWorld reeks of Apple fanboyism. If you don’t believe me, here are a few quotes taken directly from his article:
